Auction of antique furniture, collectables

Rotary Club Gozo is holding an antiques, collectables and art auction at 18 Republic Street, Victoria, (opposite the Post Office), on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The furniture section will include a fine antique Bergere dining table and occasional chairs, sofas, wardrobes, tables, sideboards and chaises longues.

Paintings, household memorabilia and collectables, including three unusual lithographs of Gozo's saltpans printed on fine aluminium media by Prof. von Büdingen will also be auctioned.

A painting by watercolourist Barry Temple, a selection of 1960s Mdina glass and a bow-fronted chest of drawers will also be on sale.

Proceeds will be in aid of the Friends of the Sick and the Elderly in Gozo (www.fsegozo.org) and the Happy Moments Kenya, a charity run by Gozo residents and Rotarians (www.happymoment skenya.org).

Items can be viewed today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 to 7 p.m.
