What do you do when you're young, bright and restless, but live in the cramped confines of the Gaza Strip?
Some young people in Khan Younes have found one solution -- they've built their own car, piecemeal, from scrap metal found on site.

Major kuddos to you guys!!! This is awesome and I hope that you can find a grant to pay for more auto creations. I have met so many Palestinian young people, who are really creative geniuses in the West Bank, and I'm sure there is no shortage also in Gaza. You are a credit to your people and it just shows that people who are oppressed and marginalized will find ways to express themselves and their hopes for the future--no matter who tries to keep them down! Maybe one day there will be a line of cars from Gaza to export to the entire Middle East, North Africa and Europe--dream big!!!

A sincere very well done to these young very innovative students of Auto Engineering in the Gaza Strip. Indeed, a highly commendable effort. Even young Gaza has its very articulate and innovative brains who want to showcase their skills with literally Scratch Built Automotive engineering !!. I sincerely hope that all your professional dreams come true, you are the future of that small little "tight" corner of the world. Keep at it and let the other competitors from the "other parts" of the world, bite it !!

Problem is where does one go for a car ride in Gaza.. I wonder if it runs on rocket fuel. And what sort of red tape is involved in getting the logbook and licence plates. Could a stealth car be next down the road?

Sweetheart, they are only building a car just like BMW does or Porsche or BMW Rolls Royce, or Audi Bentley or BMW Mini, or the great people's car manufacturer Volkswagen, or Mercedes Benz and ex Daimler Chrysler....etc etc...
Stealthy technology was not invented in the Gaza Strip, neither was red tape or license plates or log books for the matter !! Rocket fuel is fuel for rockets.The history of Rockets is very interesting and places like Cape Canaveral but also Mittlel Bau Dora in Nordhausen and Peenemünde are a complete must to cultural anthroplogists, sorry.... I meant to say engineers.
