Beer festival kicks off tonight
The 30th edition of The Farsons Great Beer Festival kicks off this evening with the foreign Kiss tribute band headlining the opening night at Ta' Qali Park.
Kiss Forever Band, performing on two separate nights, is a Hungarian band that will be performing, in full costume, the best hits of legendary rock group Kiss.
Running until August 1, this year's edition will again feature the best in Maltese talent and the finest beers on the island.
The line-up of performances on the main stage this weekend sees Lyndsay, The Jewls Verse Band and Kiss Forever Band today; Christabelle, Crosswalk and Freddie Portelli tomorrow and the Claudia Faniello Band, Versatile Brass Band and the Elvis Tribute Show with Elvis Tenderly on Sunday.
On the rock stage (hosted by 89.7 Bay) there will be performance by Skimmed, Virginia Queens and Red Electrick today; Dolls for Idols, Dana McKeon, and Chasing Pandora tomorrow and Kiss Forever Band, Scream Daisy and The Rifffs on Sunday.
Of course, the main attraction of the festival remains the beer. A wide choice of local and international beer brands will be available. The food court offers a mix of dishes from all over the world to complement the vast range of beers on offer. The official festival beer mug will be sold at the bars with the beer of choice or at the souvenir stall selling other special brand merchandise.
Two Air Malta flight tickets to Vienna, Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, Leipzig, Hamburg, Dusseldorf and Berlin and Home Trends gifts will be given away every night.

No doubt most will be driving to this event. Let's see the number of cars that 'lose control' over the next week during the early hours of the morning.
Surely a much higher police presence on the roads around this area is a must and random breath testing applied. Nothing to hide? - so no problem then.
