I refer to Alex Vella's write-up of July 5 regarding the game Marsaxlokk vs Marsascala.
While not going into the technical aspects of the game, which admittedly was not an excellent one on our part, I strongly feel that it is an injustice not to present the Marsaxlokk project in its entirety.
This year, Marsaxlokk was on the verge of non-participation due to years of escalating financial burdens, a threat which, one must say, a number of teams face today. This year's team, we are proud to say, consists purely of amateurs, training and playing at times at personal cost simply for the love of the game. This includes the foreign players too.
I think that such efforts should be lauded and readers would have been better served had the article used more appropriate words, rather than "futile" and "outworn" and focused on the real aspects of the game.
