Finance Minister Tonio Fenech revealed in Parliament that residences that had had their water and electricity supplies suspended owed the Water Services and Enemalta corporations a total of €1,067,716.54, over 775 bills.

Supplies were not suspended when a consumer was over 61 and had pending bills for less than €1,000, or when the consumer was receiving a pension or social assistance.

The minister was answering a question by Nationalist MP Edwin Vassallo.
