Man admits smashing glass on barman's head

Amended:

Ronnie Farrugia, 28 of Kalkara was today condemned to a one-year jail term suspended for four years after he admitted in court to having seriously injured the barman of the Kalkara Regatta Club, Richard Vella when he smashed a glass on his head.

He also admitted resisting a police constable and disobeying police orders.

The incident happened on March 31 late in the evening during a function in the club. The barman had told Mr Farrugia to keep away from hi fi equipment to prevent damage and the accused reacted violently and smashed a glass on his head.

The court also ordered Mr Farrugia not to approach the victim and imposed a €1,000 guarantee.

If one were to call an ex president 'Lumumba'[sic].one would receive two years prison suspended for four years and a LM 5000 bond.I am of course talking about Norman Lowell.
