I see the sentence fits the crime, what I didn't understand is the AVO against the offender since the accused is serving a year in jail.

is it possible that such a (serious) aggession did not carry a minimum of jail term??!
i see this as an encouragement to use violence. aggressors do nto have anything to fear.
or maybe IF the glass had broken, and entered the victims head,,,, maybe then we would have a jail term.... ok..... fine.

No wonder most of the people are resisting arrests and disobeying police orders if they get a slap on the hand. One year suspended. I wonder nowadays if there are other worse punishments rather then suspended sentences! If im not mistaken, in other countries, like UK, if you are involved in a bar fight (and found guilty( you get a jail sentence. What is the parliament doing to change these stupid laws we have?

If one were to call an ex president 'Lumumba'[sic].one would receive two years prison suspended for four years and a LM 5000 bond.I am of course talking about Norman Lowell.
