Joe Mifsud and Norman Darmanin Demajo are poised for another two-horse race for the Malta FA presidency as they are the only two candidates who submitted their nomination before the deadline on Monday evening.
Dr Mifsud, the current incumbent, is seeking to extend his 18-year tenure at the helm of the MFA while Darmanin Demajo, who occupied the post of MFA honorary treasurer in the past, is making his second attempt to land the top job in Maltese football.
Carmelo Bartolo, Ludovico Micallef and Peter Fenech, the association's three vice-presidents for the last three years, are vying for another term.
Alex Manfrè, the association's honorary treasurer, has also declared his intention to stand for election as MFA vice-president.
The former Sliema Wanderers FC official has also filed his candidacy for the post of treasurer but he will be challenged by Antoine Portelli, the ex-Msida St Joseph official, and Paul Bugeja, who currently holds the post of assistant treasurer.
The elections for the top Malta FA positions will take place on August 7.
