The public services section of the General Workers' Union has lifted the industrial action it had ordered at St Vincent de Paul Hospital in Luqa.

This followed a meeting between the union and Health Minister Joe Cassar where it was agreed that the results of workers evaluated after a course on nursing-related duties would be issued.

The section said it had been complaining for months about the results, which, if positive, would have enabled health assistants to carry out further duties at the hospital and facilitate work.

It was also agreed the course would be held every year.
