The PN has called on Labour leader Joseph Muscat and the PL to dissassociate themselves from comments made by deputy leader Anglu Farrugia.
Dr Farrugia had, while speaking in parliament, urged the Attorney General to appeal a court decision which found there was no corrupt practice in a case first raised by Dr Farrugia. In his comments, Dr Farrugia asked if the court had correctly interpreted the law, on the basis of the evidence that was given.
The party said that the comments made by Dr Farrugia showed disrespect to the rules of democracy and they were dangerous given that he was a party deputy leader who hoped to be a minister.
The PN said Dr Farrugia had first waged a campaign where he alleged electoral malpractices despite the people's vote, and then he had accused a person with electoral corrupt practices.
The allegations were refuted by the court, but instead of apologizing for having labelled a person, Dr Farrugia had criticised the courts.
The PN asked whether Dr Farrugia considered himself to be above the court and said he should apologise to the people.
