Music, food and a choice of the finest beers will be on offer at the 30th edition of the Farsons Great Beer Festival that opens on Friday and runs until August 1.

The festival, which will be open daily from 8 p.m. onwards, has become a fixture on the social scene over the years and grew exponentially since it relocated to the Ta' Qali Park venue nine years ago.

A selection of artistes and bands will be performing on two stages nightly, with popular bands such as Tribali, Airport Impressions, Freddie Portelli and Ira Losco performing on the main stage. Fakawi, Chasing Pandora, The Rifffs and Salt appear on the rock stage, along with a tribute band, Kiss Forever Band, performing on two nights.

Cisk in its lager, Export, Excel and XS varieties will be on offer, along with Hopleaf Pale and Blue Label Ales. The foreign beer selection includes Carlsberg, Budweiser, Kilkenny, Guinness, John Smith's, Beck's and Corona. Strongbow and Bulmer's ciders will also be available.

Maltese, Turkish, Chinese, Italian and Mexican dishes are among the favourites that will be served during the festival.
