Blades beat Hibs and Vittoriosa
Daniel Bogdanovic in action for Sheffield United yesterday.
English Championship team Sheffield United, currently in Malta for a pre-season training camp, last night were the winners of the JPL Cisk Lager Cup, a triangular tournament that saw the participation of Hibernians and Vittoriosa Stars.
In 45-minute matches at the Hibs Stadium, the Blades beat Vittoriosa 1-0 and then Hibernians 2-0 in the tournament decider.
In the opener, Hibs won the clash of the two Maltese Premier League teams after prevailing in a penalty shoot-out 3-1 following a 0-0 draw.
Malta international striker Daniel Bogdanovic made his official debut for Sheffield United, yesterday. He played both matches and scored one of the goals against Hibs from a penalty.
Bogdanovic, formerly of Barnsley, was named best player of the tournament.

I know pre season matches aren't renound for their class but at times it was hard to work out which team Sheffield United were. I wish we could attract some decent clubs to Malta and not these small clubs from the lower leagues.

Norwich, Leeds, Derby... Surely the Malta Tourism Authority could have found a higher profile club outside of the Premier League than Sheffield United.
