According to the EU trade figures covering January to April, Malta managed to increase its exports by 40 per cent over the same period of 2009, with the value of Maltese products shipped abroad this year reaching the €600 million mark.
Although almost all EU countries, apart from Ireland, Luxembourg and Finland, managed to increase their exports over the 2009 figures, Malta’s growth was by far the largest in the EU.

The biggest growth in imports in the EU was registered by Lithuania and Sweden, both importing 22 per cent more than last year.
Luxembourg registered a decrease in imports of -7 per cent.
