You must have been a big fan of Ciao Darwin, the show by Paolo Bonolis.

Pretty soon we will not be able to recognise the magical Bay of Hondoq on Gozo if Mepa were to give the go ahead for the developers to act on their insatiable greed. So please make your voices heard and let your MP know that you prefer to keep Gozo looking magical.

I will join your call here. Gozo should only be cleaned up, the present roads and general infrastructure reconditioned together with less vehicular traffic, thats all. That way Gozo remains what it really is : A island in which time stood still, a truly unique unspoilt serenity which blends human settlement with the natural environment.

At 6:30 this morning, from Burmarrad looking across towards Naxxar heights, you could only see the first two fields. Beyond that, nothing was visible.

Truly magical photo Daniel.Regrettably, however, the mist obscured our view of all the construction cranes and activity ongoing.

I uploaded virtually the same picture to my Facebook page today at virtually the same time. I have also just been out to my terrace to check: the only crane I can see is on the Western horizon near Gharb and it is hardly discernible. There is also no new construction work going on that I can see from this vantage point.
Concern for the environment, laudable as it is, should not be allowed to over-ride the importance of accurate statements being made.

Yes it's magical - I hope it will remain magical, because construction is slowly starting to ravage its beauty and I fear it will soon end up like the rest of Malta , one massive building block with hardly any open green spaces
