HMS St Albans to visit Malta

HMS St Albans will be in Malta between Sunday and Thursday.

The vessel is the 16th and final ship in the 'Duke' class of frigates, and is the sixth ship of the Royal Navy to bear the name.

The Portsmouth-based warship HMS St Albans is returning to the UK after an operational deployment promoting regional maritime security in the Arabian Gulf. It was also part of an international combined task force which conducted counter-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden.

HMS St Albans will be berthed at Pinto Wharf.

It will not be open to the public during her stay.

What time span does your definition of "over the years" cover ? Was Marsa Sports Grounds always available to the Maltese public ?

The defensive always needs an offensive party somehow. How does the provocative come into this ? Big ships and other big ships, submarines and other submarines, planes and other planes .....etc etc etc.....!!!

A Abela, When the warships were entering the grand harbour during the Santa Maria Convoy, would you have been saying the same thing?
Where would every cargo ship passing the Gulf of Aden be without warships? Held hostage to pirates, and you would be paying a lot more for your goods as the cost of shipping would be millions of dollars more expensive.
It must be nice to live in your pretty little world where everybody is reasonable and is willing to sort things out round the table. Unfortunatly for the rest of us, the world is slightly harsher and not everyone listens to reason therefore these warships are necessary to help keep the peace in the world.
