A dead and stinking tuna which was washed ashore at Ghar id-Dud Sliema more than 24 hours ago, was removed this afternoon, some two hours after the matter was raised on timesofmalta.com.

"There is a big stink and it's very unhygienic," Rita Spiteri, who took the above picture, had reported.

"We called the Public Health Department, the police and the council, but it is still there."
