The letter by reader Charles Micallef (Get Wise To Low Cost Carriers' Rules, July 12) wrongly claimed that Ryanair "add additional fees once the booking payment is made and confirmed", which is entirely incorrect and also illegal.

No company can impose additional costs or expenses after a passenger has been informed of, and agreed to, a purchase price.

Please also note that the cost for checked-in baggage of €44.80 was also incorrect. Ryanair's baggage charges range from €15-€20 per checked-in bag. Finally, I note that Mr Micallef preferred Easyjet's bacon sandwich to Ryanair's, which is purely a matter of individual tastes. However, what is guaranteed is that Ryanair's fares are always "tastier" and cheaper than Easyjet's - allowing more Maltese passengers and visitors to travel for less and see more with Ryanair.
