A 16-year-old Russian student who came to Malta to study English was today charged in court with the attempted murder of two Maltese teenagers when he allegedly stabbed them during an argument in Bugibba early yesterday morning.

The boy pleaded not guilty.

One of the Maltese was stabbed in the groin with a pen knife and the other was stabbed twice in his chest.

The Russian boy also pleaded not guilty to possession of a pen knife without a licence, breaching the peace and 'running in the road in a way which posed a danger'.

The boy was remanded in custody.
