A 43-year-old Gozitan was today granted bail after having been accused before a Magistrate in Gozo with having twice in the same day assaulted policemen.
He was also accused of attempted robbery and being a relapser.
The police in a statement said that the accused, Raymond Abela, pleaded not guilty.
He was accused of having, on June 5 at Victoria, insulted, threatened, assaulted and resisted the police and caused slight damage to property.
He was also accused of having, on the same day in Marsalforn, tried to throw a large stone at two policemen, threatened the officers and slightly injured them.
He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000.
