A teenager suffered a serious sexual assault in Londonderry late on Saturday night. The victim, aged 17, left a pub on the Strand Road at around 11.30 p.m. on Saturday, police said.

She returned to her friends at around 1 a.m. in a dishevelled state and an ambulance was called. She was treated in hospital.

Police appealed for anybody with information to contact them.
