Ferries see increase in passengers, cars
The Gozo ferries in the second quarter of this year carried more passengers and cars than in the same quarter last year, but performed fewer trips.
The NSO said this morning that passengers increased by 4.7 per cent, totalling 1,055,740 when compared to the corresponding period in 2009.
The number of vehicles carried by scheduled trips went up by 1.8 per cent, to 279,358.
June saw the biggest number of commuters - 372,194 or 35.3 per cent of the total. The number of trips in the second quarter stood at 4,892, a decrease of 0.4 per cent over the corresponding period last year.
The highest number of trips was in June - 1,697 or 34.7 per cent of total trips for the period under review

No wonder such results, its the only company plying the GOZO Channel.When are we going to see some competition.??

No wonder. Going abroad has become unattainable, so people are opting for one of the other affordable choices.
