• Today, Kerċem celebrates the feast of Our Lady of Succour. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech leads a Pontifical Mass at 9 a.m. with the participation of Stella Maris Orchestra and St Gregory choir. The Maria Mater Gratiae Band of Żabbar will play marches at 11 a.m. The procession with the statue of Our Lady starts at 7.45 p.m. The St Gregory, Mnarja and Ite ad Joseph bands will also take part.

• The Diocesan Eucharistic Movement will hold a prayer evening at the Good Shepherd church, Victoria, on Saturday at 8.30 p.m., followed by Mass at midnight.

• Chez Armand restaurant in Qbajjar, Marsalforn, is hosting an exhibition of paintings of local landscapes and still life by Anastasia Ponyatovskaya Pace.

• A Diocesan Marian Manifestation will take place at Marsalforn on July 29. The public is asked to be seated in Valley Road at 7.30 p.m. An animated rosary will be followed by a concelebrated Mass led by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech.

• Ta' Ħamet church will celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on Friday. The church rector Mgr Carmelo Hili will say Mass at 6 a.m. Solemn adoration will take place between 5.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m., followed by a concelebrated Mass led by Bishop Nikol Cauchi and a pilgrimage with the statue of Our Lady.

• Applications for courses for the next scholastic year at the Gozo School of Drama are open. Courses include acting, stage management, classical ballet, ballroom and Latin American dancing, expressive dance and aerobics. Application forms are obtainable from the school premises in Nadur or from local councils. The closing date for applications is September 11.
