The Institute of Tourism Studies has launched the programme of studies for management courses for the academic year 2010-2011.

Courses on offer include the Higher Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management, the Diploma in Travel and Tourism, the Diploma in Front Office Operations, the Diploma in Housekeeping Management, and the Diploma and Certificate in Hotel Operations.

The Higher Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management programme provides aspiring managers with the necessary training and skills required in the industry.

The Diploma in Travel and Tourism is a new three-year course designed for students wishing to pursue a career in diverse areas within the sector, both as employees and entrepreneurs.

The Diploma in Front Office Operations and Diploma in Housekeeping Management replace the Diploma in Accommodation Operations.

Students will be required to undergo local industrial trade practice in summer and those not in full-time employment will receive a stipend starting at €27.95 a week.

Prospectus and application forms are available at the registrar office at the ITS in St Julian's, the ITS campus in Gozo, and from ETC job centres in Valletta, Mosta, Vittoriosa and Victoria, or at www.its.edu.mt.

Applications and relevant documentation are to be submitted by noon on August 13.
