Mgarr farmers yesterday evening took visitors on a trip down memory lane as they took part in a large scale re-enactment of the traditional wheat harvesting, threshing and winnowing by hand, using authentic tools and in period costumes. Indigenous Maltese farm animals were also used.

Exhibits featuring the Imgarr rural trades of the past, such as sheep wool weaving, agricultural tools and machinery, hand made fishing nets, wicker baskets and more were on show.

Local produce, including home made wine, 'gbejniet' (sheep milk cheeselets), olive oil, honey, traditional delicacies and seasoning herbs were on sale.
