Maltese swimmers extended their winning spree at the 62nd FISEC Games in Tours after adding another ten medals to their tally yesterday.

Nicky Muscat claimed gold in the 50m freestyle in 31.13 seconds. Rea Cutajar placed second in the 200m fly after clocking 2:36.89 while Talisa Pace took bronze in the 100m free in 1:01.52.

Mark Sammut captured another two silver medals after placing second in the 50m backstroke (29.80) and the 200m backstroke (2:16.49).

Daniel Galea also won two silver medals yesterday in the 100m breaststroke (1:10.60) and the 200m IM (2:23.13) while Gabriel Pace was second in the 400m free in 4:30.26.

The other medals in the pool came from the relay teams. The boys quartet of Daniel Galea, Matthew Zammit, Pace and Sammut placed third in the 4x100 medley in 4:15.96 while Nikki Muscat, Michaela Millo, Cutajar and Pace also took bronze in the same discipline when clocking 4:42.65.

Amy Micallef set a new Age Group C record in the 100m breastroke when completing the distance in 1:22.77.

Meanwhile, the women's basketball team lost their second successive game, going down to Belgium Flanders 73-51. Stephanie Demartino was Malta's leading scorer with 18 points.
