Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali believes his team's title challenge hinges on the next three grands prix.

Domenicali has claimed it is "crucial" for morale that Ferrari win either Sunday's British Grand Prix or one of the following two in Germany or Hungary prior to the summer break.

The Maranello marque are without a win since the season opener in Bahrain when Fernando Alonso crowned his Ferrari debut by taking the chequered flag at the Sakhir circuit.

Since then the wins have been shared equally between McLaren duo Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, along with Red Bull pair Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel, all with two apiece.

It means Alonso currently trails championship leader Hamilton by 29 points, with Ferrari 83 points behind McLaren in the constructors' standings.

"It is very important to win one of the next three races," said Domenicali.

"It would be crucial for the championships, for motivation. It is really the key before the summer break, to have the kind of result I think our team deserves."

Ferrari had hoped for some degree of success in the European Grand Prix 11 days ago when they unveiled their latest upgrade package.

However, all within the team were enraged by what transpired during the race, with Alonso and team-mate Felipe Massa falling victims of the safety car rules.

After running third and fourth in the early stages, Mark Webber's dramatic accident resulted in the duo finishing eighth and 11th, whilst other drivers who flouted the regulations fared better.

Domenicali maintains the atmosphere within the team following that race remains "good," with the desire now to put it behind them and go racing again.

"The will is for all the team to go to a fantastic track (Silverstone) and start a new racing weekend," added Domenicali.

"Unfortunately, we know in the last two races we didn't get the results we wanted. The performance was there, but the result was not.

"Even if we know that traditionally Silverstone is not a track where we perform very well, we're really looking forward to going there and seeing what the outcome will be."

Domenicali has promised further revisions to the car as Ferrari attempt to keep pace in the development war currently being waged by the top teams.

Post Hungary on August 1, however, it will be a case of assessing the title picture before deciding whether to push further or give up and start turning attention and resources towards next year's car.

"We believe the rate of development will be the key to this year," said Domenicali.

"We did quite a reasonable step in Valencia, and we'll do another one, maybe smaller, at Silverstone. We're speaking about the front and rear wings.

"Then in Germany there will be a new package, in Hungary a new package, and then we will see."
