Chiswick House School and St Martin's College, two independent schools in Malta, will today launch their LP+ e-learning platform to be made available during the next scholastic year.

Leading and award-winning UK e-learning platform company LP+, with its Maltese partner Exigy, said the measure was the result of two e-learning project agreements, the first such agreements on the islands.

"This is a very exciting and important development for our schools," school principal Patrick Tabone said. "E-learning will bring personalised learning to our students and give them new skills that are very relevant for the times in which we live. I look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with LP+ and Exigy that will deliver real value to our pupils, parents and staff."

The launch marks the entry of LP+ into Malta and the establishment of a local office with its partner Exigy, a member of the M. Demajo Group. Exigy is a leading player in the e-government arena, providing comprehensive solutions to meet the specialised needs of governments and public sector institutions. The move into e-learning represents a natural extension to the business.

The deal follows LP+ winning the prestigious 2010 BETT Education Partnership Award for its work in transforming schools in Wolverhampton Local Authority. LP+'s ADOPT framework has also been selected by the British Educational Communications and Technology Agency, an agency of the Department for Education as the National Model for eLearning Maturity in England. LP+ serves over 500 schools in England, with over 400,000 online users.

Mehool Sanghrajka, chief executive of the LP+ Group, said: "This is an enormously exciting partnership. It is effectively the launch of LP+ into the Maltese market and surrounding region. Malta has an outstanding record in e-government and an exciting vision to transform the island into a knowledge economy. It's an exciting place to be."

Chiswick House School and St Martin's College are the largest independent educational establishment on the island, offering top quality, mixed ability education to boys and girls from Malta and 24 other countries, with English as the main language of instruction. The schools cater for pupils between two and 18 years of age.

LP+ Limited is a UK based company headed by Prof. Stephen Heppell and Dr Mehool Sanghrajka. It is a leader in e-learning platforms and consulting to schools on technology adoption. It has over 15 years' experience in the education sector.
