Motorcycle thief jailed

Richard Borg, 40 of Sliema was today jailed for a year after he admitted stealing a motorcycle and violating the conditions of previous court sentences.

Police Inspector Arthur Mercieca said in court that that Mr Borg had stolen and dismantled the motorcycle and sold some of its parts. He had admitted his crime to the police and also said he had a drug problem.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera in jailing the accused said she had considered the early guilty plea and that he had relapsed. The court recommended drug addition treatment at the prison.
