Argentina FA president Julio Grondona says Diego Maradona is the one to decide if he continues as Argentina national team boss.

The South American team were eliminated from the World Cup on Saturday when they crashed 4-0 against Germany.

Maradona has not spoken about his future in the position since he returned to Argentina last Sunday.

However, Grondona said: "Maradona is the only person in the country who can do whatever he wants. He still has a contract with us, so it's up to him."

His first assistant Alejandro Mancuso said: "Knowing Diego as I do, I don't think he will step down.

"We can't throw out all the good things we've done up to now. We've grown up a lot as a group.

"We know the players and how each of them reacts to a negative situation. If he decides to stay, we have to start working right away."
