Tiger Woods says he will probably play four practice rounds at St Andrews before the British Open.
That might seem a lot for a guy who knows the Old course inside out after winning there in 2000 and 2005, but nobody has ever accused Woods of being unprepared for majors.
He completed the AT&T National in mediocre fashion with a one-over-par 71 in the final round at Aronimink on Sunday. The event marked the first time he has failed to break par in all four rounds at a regular PGA Tour event since 1999.
"I've driven the ball better than in a very long time," he said after signing for a four-over 284 total.
"I hit driver as many times as I possibly could, because it felt so good."
After speaking with the media, Woods headed to his private jet to fly to Ireland for a celebrity pro-am.
