A man was injured when he fell a height of one storey into a shaft at the Parish Hall in St Dominic Street, Valletta.

Civil Protection Department rescuers were called to assist the man but by the time they arrived on the site he had already been helped out of the shaft by some people.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance. His condition is still unknown.
