Four men were conditionally discharged for three years yesterday after they admitted to stealing nearly €12,000 worth of meat products from a shop in Braille Street, Sta Venera.
A 24-year-old from Marsaxlokk, Shaun Dominic Mallia, 29, of Marsascala, Silvan Mangion, 28, of Qormi and a 24-year-old from Sta Luċija all had a clean police record and had paid the company the amount owed.
A probation officer will be drawing up reports on each of the men to be submitted every four months.
In a separate case in Gozo, Joseph Bajada, 56, was kept under preventive arrest pending sentencing tomorrow after pleading not guilty to breaching bail conditions imposed on him over pending drug trafficking charges.
