During the first four months of 2010 there were a monthly average of 23,600 queries about utility bills, Finance Minister Tonio Fenech told Anthony Agius Decelis (PL) in reply to a parliamentary question this evening.

Besides, he added, between February 11 and May 19 the Directorate of Programme Implementation, that includes the ministry's customer care division, received 96 complaints about the Water Services Corporation. But the complaints were varied and not necessarily regarding utility bills.

Labour MP Leo Brincat noted that according to the answer, the corporation had received close to 100,000 queries or complaints in four months.
