Digital Games Malta is holding its next event today with a lecture by a foreign speaker.

The guest, Ingo Mesche, director and founder at AV Technologies Ltd, is probably best known for the Moorhuhn (Crazy Chicken) game produced for Johnny Walker, the demo of which was downloaded more than 80 million times worldwide.

Mr Mesche developed his first computer game in 1988 and over the years has designed more than 80 of them. A year later he was employed as assistant art director for the German game developer Starbyte. Since 1993 he has worked as a freelance graphic designer / design consultant, and until 2005 was a partner of the Swiss media agency Black Pencil AG.

Two of Ingo's latest projects are the design of the casual game Coke Caps for Coca Cola Ltd. and the 3D modelling of Happy Hippo characters for Ferrero, which are now used as reference models for advertising agencies worldwide.

His customers include Mercedes Benz/ Brabus Germany, German Telekom, Artificial Life China, Nintendo, Unilever, Dresdner Bank, Swiss Lottery, Sparkasse Germany, several German and Swiss TV channels and feature film studios.

Creatives and companies active in the digital media sector and companies and individuals interested in starting a career in, or diversifying into, the digital games sector are invited to attend.

The lecture will be held between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. at Lecture Centre 118, University of Malta. Attendance is free and light refreshments will be served.

Digital Games Malta is a multi-disciplinary team working towards the creation of a digital games production industry in Malta.
