Investors continued to shy away from the local equity market as only €29,839 worth of shares changed hands during this morning’s session.

Bank of Valletta plc traded lower for the fifth consecutive session.

BOV’s share price dropped by a further 1.3 per cent to another new 2010 low of €3.05 on low volumes of 2,500 shares. Meanwhile HSBC Bank Malta plc maintained the €2.83 level across 7,090 shares.

Malta International Airport plc and Medserv plc were also active this morning. MIA closed unchanged at the €1.62 level while Medserv dropped 0.7 per cent to €4.25.

On the alternative companies list, the equity of Loqus Holdings plc (formerly known as Datatrak Holdings plc) was active for the first time in a month. The share price of the IT company jumped 40 per cent higher to regain the €0.21 level as the trade ranges were removed by the Malta Stock Exchange.

This afternoon the Malta Stock Exchange announced that the two outstanding bonds of Mediterranean Investments Holding plc have been upgraded from the alternative companies list to the official list as the company satisfies the relevant eligibility criteria.
