More cannabis was found this year than in the whole of last year, Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici said today.

In a statement issued to congratulate the police for their 20 kilogrammes haul in St Paul’s Bay yesterday, while assisted by the Armed Forces of Malta, the minister said this success followed a preceding five kilogrammes haul in February and a number of other small finds.

Dr Mifsud Bonnici said that more than €5 million worth of drugs were hauled last year, double the value amount of that found in 2008.
