@charles sammut: even if the majority did agree with you that does not make it right!
property prices seem to be of more concern to you than providing these people with a decent life!

i live in balzan. i do not agree - these people have not caused any trouble. they are mostly families, and just meet up to chat on the benches in the sqaure, like maltese people do.

@louise vella qalet li malta diga mimlija b'emigranti illegali. Nahseb li din qatt ma harget min din il-gzira. Jekk tmur fl-ewropa kollha issib numru ferm u ferm akbar minn Malta. Jiena ma naqbilx li dawn jigu hawn Malta imma la darba gew huma holqien ta Alla u irridu niehdu hsiebhom.
Kien hawn u ghad hawn min jipprova jizra l-mibeda kontra dawn in-nies ghax suwed, imma ftit li xejn nisimu kontra emigranti illegali li gejja min-naha ta fuq tal-ewropa fosthom mir-russja, ukraina u postijiet simili bħal dawn.

Mtarfa residents must be disappointed to learn that they will be deprived of the social benefits that would result from the 'strength in diversity' resulting from having a few hundred "irregular immigrants" joining and integrating in their community. Why should Marsa and Birzebbuga residents only enjoy this blessing?

i would not mind having immigrants in my village. many immigrants have been living for years in balzan, and have not caused any problems, except to those who dislike the sight of black skin.

@ Sean Grima
It is not what you mind or not that matters, it is what the rest of the village wants that does matter. You will always be the exception rather than the rule.
The only benefit resulting from the open centre at Balzan is that anybody wanting to buy property there can now do so at a lower price.

that is what you say...even if it is the case, the majority is not always right. of course, according to you, property prices are more important than providing human beings with a decent lifestyle.

Malta is full up. We have no place for illegal immigrants. We already have too many of them roaming the streets of our towns and villages. The government should embark on a determined policy of repatriating those that remain as quickly as possible.

thankfully the government follows more sensible advice.
