Pink Floyd Project concert in Għaxaq

The Scandinavian Pink Floyd Project recently gave a three-hour concert in Għaxaq as part of the village's feast of St Joseph.

The band, which hails from Denmark, was brought over by the St Joseph Band Club of Għaxaq. It is estimated that a crowd of 10,000 people attended the concert.

The band played songs by the legendary group Pink Floyd, including numbers like Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Learning to Fly, The Thin Ice, and Another Brick in the Wall. The second part of the show was dedicated to the album Dark Side of the Moon. Songs performed included Speak to Me, Breathe, On the Run, Great Gig in the Sky and Eclipse.

A children's choir also accompanied the band during some songs.

A sum of €10,994 was raised in aid of Dar Tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi. The day before the concert, some band members visited Dar tal-Providenza where they were welcomed on premises by its director, Fr Martin Micallef.
