The much awaiting England vs. Germany football match will not be shown live on TVM or Rai Uno but only on Melita Sports.

TV listings in all major newspapers said the match was scheduled to be shown on TVM at 4 p.m.

But Melita, which had the right to buy exclusivity for 16 matches in the World Cup, chose to buy this match after it was decided that the two historic rivals would be facing each other and Italy was knocked out.

The news was announced by TVM news last night.

Melita has the right to buy exclusive rights for certain matches from PBS, so the same thing may happen for a small number of games in the quarter and semi finals.

It is as yet unknown why Rai will not be airing the match.

The game is being aired on Education 22 at 6.15 p.m.
