Joe Zammit (The Sunday Times, June 6) stressed that the alleged paedophile Maltese priests should be 'presumed innocent' until proven guilty. In this scenario there are likewise alleged victims.

What does Mr Zammit think about the fact that our Archbishop and the Pope himself, in particular, deemed it fit to have a meeting with the 'alleged victims' of sex abuse by priests when the cases are still sub judice?

What made the Pope grant our alleged victims a meeting in the first place? Did he believe them or not?

Perhaps Mr Zammit can give us a satisfactory answer.
