Obituary
AQUILINA. On June 22, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMEN, née Magro, aged 85, widow of Joseph, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her five children, Irene and Joseph Sciriha, Ronald and Angela, Laura and Peter Schembri, Marthese and Philip Sciortino, Sandra and Lawrence Buttigieg, her grandchildren Bertrand, Gabriella, David, Sarah, Marie Claire, Analise, Lara, Paul, Joseph, Lisa, Isaac and Gregory, her sisters Rose and Flora, her sisters-in-law Annie and Tessie, her brother-in-law Angelo, their families, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 7.45 a.m. for Christ the King parish church, Paola, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Siġġiewi cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
FORMOSA. On June 24, at St James Hospital, VICTOR LORIS of Sliema, widower of Iris née Callus, aged 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sister Iris Serge, widow of Alfred, and his brother Rene and Yvonne, his beloved grand niece Buzzi and John, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St James Hospital in Sliema tomorrow at 9.15 a.m. for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi will be appreciated.
ZAHRA. On June 23, at his residence in Santa Luċija, VICTOR, President of the Federazzjoni Klabbs tal-Boċċi, aged 64, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Doris, his daughters Fiona and her husband John Degiorgio and Melanie and her husband Aaron Ferò, his grandchildren Yanika, Andrew, Matthew and Daniel, his step-mother Alice Zahra, his sister Carol and her husband Robert McTait, his mother-in-law Maria Agius, his brothers-in-law Paul and his wife Antoinette and Charlò and his wife Marlene, his sister-in-law Rose, widow of Frans Micallef, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves his residence today at 2 p.m. for Santa Luċija parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to The Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

PACE - GERTRUDE, née Bruno Waters. On the 10th anniversary, June 26, of her joining the Risen Lord. Fondly remembered by her husband Joe, her children Paula, Mariella, Louis and David, their spouses, her eight grandchildren, other relatives and friends. A Mass will be celebrated at the Convent of the Sisters, Daughters of the Sacred Heart, Fleur-de-Lys on Sunday June 27 at 9.15 a.m.
ST. JOHN - HENRY. On the fourth anniversary of his demise. Forever in our hearts and prayers. His wife Theresa, daughter Helga and grandsons Aidan and Kieran.
VELLA. Treasured memories of VICTOR JOHN on the first anniversary of his passing away to eternal life. Always in our thoughts and prayers. Deeply missed by his wife Maria, his children Anne Marie, Antoine and Elizabeth, Gillian and Andrè, and his grandchildren Matthew, Julian, Maria and Michela. A Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated today at 7 p.m. at Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema.
Festival at Msida
The Msida council will be holding a three-day festival of culture, music, food and football, starting tonight, in collaboration with the Parliamentary Secretariat for Local Government and the Malta Tourism Authority.
The event, at Ġużé Ellul Mercer Gardens, opposite the Msida parish church, starts at 7 p.m. every day, ending on Sunday.
Various traditions will be showcased tonight and tomorrow, particularly those in relation to fishing. On Sunday, Ta' Xbiex seafront will be closed and a large stage set up for performances by Thea Garrett and the Big Band Brothers.
Marsovin wine festival
Marsovin will be holding the third edition of its annual wine festival at Hastings Garden in Valletta between tonight and Monday from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
A €10 entrance fee includes a premium festival wine glass and €10 worth of wine tokens, with which one can either taste up to 20 different wines or drink a selection of wines by the glass or bottle. Alternatively, there is a standard €5 entrance fee, which entitles buyers to the festival wine glass and €2 worth of tasters or glasses of wine.

From 8 to 11 a.m. in Bajjada Ġiuseppi, Ta' Bertrija, Ta' Bullara, Jannar, Ropa, Laurent and Grech Liberat streets, Egħżien entrance in Xagħra.
From 2.30 to 4 p.m. in Caruana Raymond, Patri Franġisk Cauchi, Filfla, Patri Odorik Grima, Kemmunett, Malta and Wied Martin streets in Għajnsielem.
