There are currently 7,441 foreigners with work permits in Malta, Employment Minister Dolores Cristina told Labour MP Anthony Agius Decelis in answer to a parliamentary question.

Of the total, 4,275 were EU citizens or their dependants, 889 were refugees, people under temporary humanitarian protection or asylum seekers, and 2,227 third-country nationals.
