Dream project for sporting community

I was present at the press conference that announced the White Rocks project and have no qualms in saying I like it. How can I not like it? After all, it is what the local sporting community has been praying to see for years.

Maybe when it comes to local sports I am a bit of a dreamer. Unlike the criticism piled on the project from various sectors, I do not visualise it as a sell-out of land for more real estate speculation, nor as a fresh get-rich scheme for the "boys".

The full facts are not known yet, as after all negotiations have just started. Talks with the various local sporting stakeholders are essential to the success of this project and the government has made it clear that their recommendations will be taken seriously.

I will keep on dreaming and hoping that the sporting community and the locals at large are not being duped.
