Champions Sliema McDonald's and close contenders Neptunes Emirates will return to the pool today for another match from the preliminary phase of the BOV National League.

Sliema, who started with a 17-6 rout of Marsascala on Wednesday, should have another troubleless outing when they play lowly Ta' Xbiex Mermaids Paradise.

Ta' Xbiex lost their opener to San Ġiljan (18-7) on Friday.

Neptunes surpassed a trickly hurdle when beating Exiles Jet Service 15-7 in their first match. This evening, Sergey Markoch's Reds should make it two from two by beating Marsascala, a team with modest aspirations this season.

Today's programme: 5 p.m. Sliema vs Ta' Xbiex; 6.15 p.m. Neptunes vs Marsascala.
