One of the many stands at the Earth Garden Festival, which took place on June 5 and 6, was in aid of voluntary organisation Pamper the World. The stand offered various massages for charity.
The sessions proved extremely popular, as people enjoyed massages for €5 in aid of charity. T-shirts and stickers were also on sale and are still available.
Funds raised will be used to keep this charitable organisation active and also to organise its next mission to Israel/Palestine, where a team of physiotherapists, massage therapists and a counsellor will assist victims of the conflicts from December to March.
The mission of Pamper the World is to use massage therapy, yoga, meditation and cultural inter-exchange to provide emotional and physical support to individuals and populations living difficult life situations.
The organisation aims to promote tolerance and integration and bring awareness to different causes by supporting other non-profit organisations in Malta, such as Puttinu Cares, to help families of children hospitalised for cancer, Dar Merħba Bik, YMCA, and AWAS at the open centre for single women and families in Ħal Far.
Pamper the World was originated by Anne Catisson, a French woman who trained as a massage therapist and decided she didn't want to use her skills to make money, but to carry out humanitarian work.
Through her hard work and determination, she managed to set up her charity in Malta after she volunteered in Argentina for four months to launch the concept.
The healing effects of a massage can create a huge beneficial change to someone's life.
The organisation team consists of Catisson as president, Terry Gosden as vice-president, Ludivine Bendotti as secretary and Audrey Falzon as main volunteer.
The organisation has quite a few volunteers but always needs more. Anyone interested can e-mail pampertheworld@yahoo.com.
The next charity event will be a concert on October 24 at the Grand Masters Suite of the Hilton Malta by Renzo Spiteri and Idan Raichel's Project from Israel.
Anyone wishing to donate to the charity can do so at HSBC Bank, St Paul's Bay branch by asking for account holder 'Pamper the World'; account number 064096498001; sort code 44646.
