The Foundation for Information Technology Accessibility and the Gozo Federation of Disabled Persons successfully held their first ICT training courses in Gozo. These were delivered over the last few months in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo and Dar l-Arka.
These FITA courses catered for persons with intellectual and/or communication difficulties. One-to-one courses for persons with a visual impairment were also held.
A total of 63 students attended and those who progressed well in the introductory course moved on to attend the more advanced training session.
All students who sat for the ECDL examination so far have passed, some of them with full marks.
The sessions were held at Dar L-Arka in Gozo while the Education Division's Life Long Learning Department and the Ministry for Gozo provided the training services.
Starting this year FITA introduced a basic computer course in Gozo.
More courses are planned, but this depends greatly on the users' interest and demand, FITA said.
