A 35-year-old construction worker from Hamrun was grievously injured this morning when a roof in a Senglea residence collapsed and he fell two storeys with the debris. He is not in a critical condition. Another two workers were not injured.

The case happened at about 10 a.m. in Triq San Filippu.

The worker was working on the roof when it collapsed. The weight of the debris also brought down a ceiling below. The worker was rushed to hospital in an ambulance. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Other workers on the site were unhurt.
