TV and radio programmes these days give so much importance to fashion, home decor, looks, false eyelashes, acrylic nails, hair extensions, etc. Are these the only values we want our younger generation to grow up with? What about manners?

My hopes of watching a few programmes on good manners were more than shattered when recently I unfortunately decided to watch Liquorish. I was shocked, to say the least, at the "challenge" the participants were asked to follow. Couples had their wrists tied together for a whole day: I have no wish to describe the disgusting and obvious outcome.

Pity a popular programme produced by such a charming lady (with whom I would never have associated such vulgarity) is seen by so many, mostly young TV viewers. Yes, good manners are indeed going downhill and it pains me to see that even a serious TV station such as TVM is helping in making this more rampant.
