July 5, First International Workshop on Enterprise Crowdsourcing, Vienna

Crowdsourcing is the phenomenon where an online population provides the bulk of the content for a website. Encouraged by the expansion of Web 2.0 and social networking, crowdsourcing has become an industry in its own right. Enterprise Crowdsourcing poses interesting challenges for both academic and industrial research along with its social, legal, and technological dimensions. The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners to facilitate stimulating discussions on the different aspects of crowdsourcing. The workshop will also seek to better understand emerging business models and opportunities, while identifying how existing business processes can most efficiently adopt the crowdsourcing model.

July 10 - 14, Eurhodip Conference, Zaragoza

Eurhodip is the association of leading hotel schools in Europe with more than 150 member schools and universities from 39 different countries. The main topic of this conference will be city marketing which is an important phenomenon of the last decade. Major cities and provincial towns have designed marketing strategies and have started to use brands aimed at their "clients", residents, investors and visitors. This approach - normally a joint effort by city councils and the private sector - will no doubt affect the hospitality industry in numerous ways: not only will the number of visitors, hopefully, increase, our visitors will have different expectations or we may even reach entire new visitors' segments. Also, residents may change their perception of their own city and, thus, their leisure habits.
