Over the weekend Marsa played against new touring team Saracens Riffs, a team from the UK.

On Saturday, the hosts batted first with John Grima and Chris Naudi. The latter, with 23 runs, was first to go after a 50-partnership.

Naudi's brother, Andy, was next in and next out, scoring 14 runs and Grima was finally caught with his tally standing at 43. Ronnie Sacco added 29 runs, Sam Dhandapani 15 and Joy Ghoseroy 10 as the Marsa team totalled 165 runs from their allotted 40 overs.

Adam Stevens was the main wicket-taker with an impressive five.

In reply, Tom Smith top-scored for the visitors with 40 runs. Toby Green made 38, but, unfortunately for the Riffs, none of the other batsmen made it into double figures and the team was bowled out for 130.

Andy Naudi was in top form for the winners, taking three wickets for three runs from four overs.

The first of the two-game series was played on Friday, a 20-over.

Saracens Riffs batted first and totalled 111 runs with Smith hitting 35 runs, Nikesh Patel 20 and Joe Birch 13.

Marsa faced the full overs but only managed 94.
