A Moroccan man was today jailed for eight years for raping a boy, 14, on and before April 6, 2004.

Hamid El Faiq was convicted of raping the Maltese boy at least twice and holding him against his will.

The first case occurred when the boy was playing football in St Paul's Bay. The man told the boy he was a professional football player and after showing him some tricks, he took him to an area near by and raped him.

The second time happened at the man's residence when the man took the boy there to show him some football pictures.

The court ordered a ban on the boy's name.
